Creative Aging Symposium 2021
January 28
https://covia.org/creative-aging-symposium/
This year, we celebrate identity.
Our third age is characterized as a time of reflection, synthesis, and exploration of self. Topics include: how identity is shaped by community, how one’s sense of self evolves over a lifetime, and how we make meaning out of life’s joys, tragedies, and everyday moments. Through creative demos, interactive experiences, and inspiring voices, you will discover new insights into the distinct gifts you bring to the world.
We are excited to announce that our speakers for the 2021 Creative Aging Symposium are EngAGE founder Tim Carpenter, multidisciplinary artist Gabri Christa; photographer S. Renee Jones, and poet Gregory Pond. To learn more about our speakers, please visit our Keynote Speakers page.
The Creative Aging Symposium is hosted by Well Connected Español and Well Connected community services of Covia, and older adults active in our programs.
Thank you to our 2021 Creator & Dreamer sponsors: Curry Senior Center, Community Living Campaign, Living Life, an Affiliate of The Change Companies, and On Lok.

OLLI SF Offers Online Courses: Free
As we are unable to meet in person for a while, we are beginning to offer some short online courses via the video conferencing application, Zoom. This is rather experimental but we hope you'll join us. Note that for online courses, there is a fee to participate but the membership fee is waived so registration is permitted for members and non-members. See the listings below and check back regularly to see more classes.

Healing Circle: Virtual!
Smith Center will be offering an online Healing Circle via Zoom with David “Lucky” Goff and Wendy Miller. Those who have been most gravely tested by life have the most loss, and potentially the most to gain. Yet it is in how we respond to these conditions - which come in many complex and subtle forms such as grief, illness, injury, injustice, war, and other unknown heartbreaks - that defines us and defines our life.
This bi-monthly circle is an opportunity to create a cyberspace community, connecting with others as we learn to grow through the hardships we have experienced in life, not in spite of them, but because of them. Healing becomes a by-product from our shared culture of community, connection, and mystery. In such a community, our flames of creativity can be lit, as we discover ourselves as more sensitized and adaptive human beings.

Virtual Thrive Alive!
As you know, music, movement and relaxation is the prescription for health and well being. For the last month, I have been missing sharing these healing modalities with my clients. For the last 25 years, I have been sharing the power of music. Now I am offering Zoom sessions that promote connection, compassion and joy during this dark time.
I am also available for consultations with healthcare professionals, caregivers and families.
